25 Weeks!

IMG_2868

Its been a while since I have had a weekly update. We have officially crossed the 25 week mark, which means in the "twin" world (if you are looking at average due dates), I have about 10 weeks to go. It also means I look like I am full term with just one baby. I have gotten pretty good at explaining why I am so large when strangers are like "OMG,  when are you due!". (My books ironically warned me about this...) So far all my maternity clothes still fit but the elastic is definitely being used.

Yesterday my mom and sister had a family shower for us. I was so excited to get our carseats, baby monitor and a few other key items. We still have a ways to go in terms of "being ready" and the nursery is pretty much chaos as I type, but we are getting there. And at least the babies can get home safely!

I'll post some more pictures of the shower later this week. These girls are going to be decked out the first 9 months of their lives.  They got so many cute clothes!

A few baby growth updates:

Weight Gained:  Not counting anymore (well only about once a month!), the girls should weigh between 2 and 2 1/2 lbs. We go to the doctor next Friday and then to Riverside for another ultrasound in a week and a half.

Exercise: I did great in Hilton Head and walked every day, sometimes twice. At home I have still been doing the Tracey Anderson DVD (9 months of Pilates basically), but its getting harder.

Movement: Lots! We have kicks from one of the girls almost all day. They are most active at night which has made sleep very interesting. The last time we went to the doctor Baby B had hiccups but I couldn't feel them yet. Its pretty close quarters in there!

Food Cravings: None, I am still missing out on this symptom. Food actually is really not as exciting as I thought it would be as I get really full really fast and unfortunately get awful heartburn.

Baby Purchases We have been focusing on the nursery so far, refinishing a dresser/changing table, hanging curtains, painting etc. Hopefully the nursery will be done in the next week or so and I can post some pictures.

Sleep: Non-existent. We are definitely in the uncomfortable phase :(

Mood: Getting excited. It seems more "real" now that we have entered the final phase.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Beach Bums

We made it. Our annual (or what has been over the last few years) trek to Hilton Head. We had a decent amount of rain on the way down but even with the rain we have taken full advantage of the beach, pool and our favorite harbour view.

Its been really hot during the day (lower 90's) so we decided to hit the beach tonight so one of us doesn't over heat. (I learned my lesson the first day! The shade has been my new friend!) The beach was gorgeous tonight, a great cool breeze and some really gorgeous ocean colors. We tracked down a nice woman with a super nice camera (we figured she knew what she was doing) to take a few fun pics.

We have had a super relaxing week so far.  Just what all of us needed. More to come... We are hoping another 2 days of sun!

Time for a little R&R!

Pretty much everyday since early March in our house has been non-stop. Being the planner that I am we scheduled a few trips this month to make sure we took some time off and just enjoyed each other's company and what is left of the summer.  Of course there are still a million projects around the house (including the new nursery) none of which I can accomplish myself these days. (Scott probably needs the vacation more than I do!)

(I'll save the after for another post as the walls have been painted, tree decal hung and dresser refinishing is in progress!)

In the meantime, the last week of June I took a quick trip to visit Megan in Tampa and Heather and Scott went to Stanford for a few days as part of Heather's introduction to a few college campuses.

We are off to Hilton Head in a few days and hoping that the tropical storm doesn't dampen our vacation too much.  More updates to come!
